The firm was established in 1992, initially focussing on accountancy and audits. It has since diversified into management consultancy. In October 1999, Urbach Hacker Young International (UHY), a worldwide association of accounting and consulting firms, elected the firm as its member for the Middle East in Dubai. In 2005, UHY was represented in 47 countries with more than 150 offices worldwide. It is rare that one organization can provide all the skills necessary to meet such a wide variety of challenges. Our team of qualified professionals and experienced support personnel, together with our extensive network of international associates, individual as well as companies, enable us to meet better the needs of our clients. Since inception, our clientile has grown to more than 450 companies spanning almost all areas of local business and trade, including government, private and overseas clients. External Audit: Optimizing the benefits of audits to our clients is a major priority. We provide opinions in accordance with national statutory requirements and in compliance with international accounting and auditing standards. Our work includes a review of internal controls, testing of selected transactions and communication with third parties to form our conclusions on financial statements. Our perspective of clients organisations, with our knowledge of industry, allows us to give practical business insights and ideas on financial and business risks on a continuous basis. Due Diligence: Our due diligence services help our clients maximize the advantages of contemplated transactions and identify exposure and risks representing deal breakers. Our multidisciplinary teams of auditors, management consultants, lawyers and tax consultants with the specialized knowledge the client needs, work under the direction of due diligence professionals. Special Audits: Our firm is well equipped to provide special services like cost audits, fraud investigations, investment audits, compliance audits and other special assignments necessary to provide assurance to management and interested parties. Internal Audit: Internal audit has matured as a function and many organisations see it as playing a vital role in assisting management in the effective discharge of their duties. It is no longer limited to financial issues but covers business and operational issues. We have assisted organisations in both establishing an internal audit department with its attendent recruitment, and assisting in special tasks such as reviews of the function itself, providing benchmarks, risk and gap analysis and formulating action plans for implementation. The firm have also been retained in the role of an internal auditor as an outsourced function, where this has been cost effective and helped management by allowing them to concentrate on what they are really good at.
