Oman Cables Industry SAOG (OCI), a company listed on the Muscat Securities Market, is located in Rusayl Industrial Estate, Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. OCI is a leading manufacturer and exporter of Medium Voltage, Low Voltage Electric Cables, Building Wires, Instrumentation Cables, & Overhead Transmission Line conductors in the Middle East. LV Power & Control Cables OCI develops, manufactures and markets, a totally integrated product line of cable and conductor solutions for a wide variety of applications, globally. OCI manufactures high quality XLPE and PVC Insulated Power Cables that meet the requirements of international standards like BS, IEC, VDE and so on. They are supplied according to individual customer specifications with alternative sheathing materials, colours and special application requirements such as reduced flame propagation, low smoke zero halogen characteristics, anti-termite treatment and UV resistance. All OCI products are designed to meet the strictest standards of quality, performance and functionality, with the ultimate goal of Customer satisfaction. The pioneering concept of manufacturing 'electric wires and cables' was first conceived by two venturesome entrepreneurs, Mr. Mustafa Mukhtar and Mr. Hussain Salman. Endowed with keen foresight and a fervent desire of contributing to national development, Mr. Mustafa Mukhtar and Mr. Hussain Salman formed 'Electrical Wires and Cables Manufacturing Company' (EWCMC), which was later renamed as Oman Cables Industry S.A.O.G. (OCI) OCI was founded with an initial capital of RO 250,000 (USD$ 648,845) by these entrepreneurial pioneers in 1984, located in a humble structure in Rusayl Industrial Estate and with an initial workforce of 10 employees. The company's first year turnover was about RO 75,000.(USD$ 194,654) OCI commenced operations with a plot size of 10,000 sq m, which has now increased to 45,000 sq m.
